100 Bowls
Single Bronze Bowl, 4 × 2 × 2 inches
Beginning with red clay, every bowl is uniquely cast and hand finished. Over the corse of three years this project began and ended with the Mediterranean Sea. They are 100 small bowls on the ground, the size of a palm. In themselves they are abundant; even as they stand empty.
They hold light. They ring when tapped. They feel both fragile and indestructible, their presence unwavering. To hold one of the one hundred bronze bowls is to encounter their paradox: weight and lightness, durability and sensitivity, fullness and emptiness. Each gives a bit of space to be in between the known and the unknown; demonstrating that it is at the intersection of mystery and meaning that we can become most fully ourselves.
